Summary: We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high customer satisfaction and building strong relationships with our valued customers, brokers, and carriers.

 

Your excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to providing exceptional customer service will be essential in this role. Additionally, you will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience. Prior logistics, operations or consumer packaged goods experience desirable.


Responsibilities:

  • Process orders, update and maintain customer and order information, and assist the sales department in the timely and cost-effective fulfillment of all customer purchase orders (POs).
  • Schedule orders, coordinate shipments of products to customers from distribution centers and warehouses, monitor bills of lading and tally sheets to ensure timely order completion and accuracy.
  • Trace orders and research problems; troubleshoot with carriers, customers, brokers and warehouses on various problems and issues that could affect levels of customer service.
  • Advise the Inventory Specialist and Logistics Manager of products that you may have availability issues with that affect the service level of your orders.
  • Gather and record information from customers, brokers, carriers, and other departments to facilitate the collection of delinquent accounts and resolve payment discrepancies. Add information to the ERP order notes database.
  • Follow-up on orders to ensure delivery by specific dates.
  • Specify if special labelling is required for shipment.
  • Confer with production, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace mission or delayed shipments.
  • Inform customers of shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any other information needed by the customer.
  • Process end-of-season merchandise returns invoices.
  • Assist in applying accounts receivable when required.
  • Assist in validating claim deductions.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical customer service experience in support of corporate customers. Logistics, operations or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Strong telephone skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving techniques are required.
  • Results oriented and self-motivated, with demonstrated ability to multi-task under tight guidelines and timeframes.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, time management ability.
  • Strong business etiquette.
  • Attention to detail.
